LeFlore County Officials, being concerned with the overcrowded conditions of their current jail facilities, commissioned Architects In Partnership to design their new jail and sheriff’s office. The new 40,500 square foot facility can now house up to 180 inmates with classifications rang- ing from maximum to minimum and also includes beds for 16 trustees.
The straight forward design of the new jail maximizes visibility while reducing staff requirements, resulting in a secure facility that is economic to operate. The new sheriff’s department consists of staff offices, locker rooms, evidence rooms, dispatch, a break room and staff meeting room. The project also includes a newly renovated and expanded Courthouse annex, providing LeFlore County with a 100,000 square foot state-of- the-art Criminal Justice Facility.
