Lincoln Elementary

Lincoln Elementary School

JUNE 2016 | ARDMORE, OK

A series of failed bond issues in Ardmore led to the deterioration of their existing facilities. AIP was hired to assess each site and to work in conjunction with the committees to develop a long range plan addressing the needs for each site and to propose a phased improvement strategy the patrons would support.

AIP participated in a series of community meetings designed to prioritize projects and to develop Phase I of Ardmore City School’s district wide improvement plan. Voters approved a $31m bond issue for elementary classroom additions and renovations, four multi-purpose room additions, several deferred maintenance projects and the new Lincoln Elementary.

Originally built in 1928, the existing Lincoln Elementary sits in a well-established neighborhood near Ardmore’s historic downtown. The new school was built on the northwest corner of the existing site and supports up to 400 students, grades 1st-5th. The two-story school includes a media center, kitchen/cafeteria, computer classrooms, a multi-purpose gym/stage, music room and art classroom.
