In association with Convergence Design, AIP was contracted for the Enid Renaissance Project. This project will serve as an important anchor within the master plan development of a six-block civic corridor within the current town square of Enid, Oklahoma. The project scope will include a new event center, the renovation of Convention Hall, and site improvements around both facilities.
The proposed new Event Center will provide a highly flexible multi-purpose venue capable of hosting sports events, concerts, trade shows, and other indoor events. The general character of the architecture will consist of brick, masonry, and glass construction to fit into the surrounding downtown architectural context, and to compliment the architecture of Convention Hall and David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
The existing Convention Hall facility, which has stood dark for several years, will be repurposed and brought into compliance with current accessibility standards. The design of the renovation will seek to maintain and enhance the general historic character of this 90 year old community asset. The proposed function of the facility will be conference space as well as a new ballroom which will become be a key feature of the overall development, in conjunction with the new Event Center.
