AIP teamed with Perkins+Will to provide construction administration services on this new 196,000 square foot structure. The new facility will house:
• BSL-2 lab with the ability to incorporate some specialty areas to BSL-3 in the future
• Specialty laboratories for imaging and specialized equipment
• Vivarium
• Administrative offices, scientific offices, and collaborative spaces
• Building support facilities
• ResearchLaboratories
• Enclosed pedestrian bridges to adj buildings and existing vivarium

The facility’s design, which will be LEED Certified, includes wind turbins and solar PV panels, a water feature supplied from reclaimed water, and green roofs in three areas of the structure. The building also provides full access for individuals with disabilities, a fire alarm system, electronic security, communications and information systems compatible with existing systems throughout the OMRF complex, and design for support facilities such as utilities, electric service, perimeter lighting, paving, walks, curbs, gutters, storm drainage, and site improvements.
