The community and Chickasha Public Schools were in need of a facility to host thier fine arts and athletic events. After extensive planning with Architects In Partnership, a joint community-school committee decided to build a multi-purpose facility to host a variety of events. These include: basketball, wrestling, and volleyball games; staff development, school banquets, and social events; as well as plays, musicals, and concerts.
AIP designed their multi-use project on a sloping site just north of the existing high school. The slope of the site allowed for a cost effective multi-story structure to accommodate the gymnasium, as well as main entry access from the second level. The facility provides a competitive gymnasium that seats 2000, an auditorium that seats 1000, and a common lobby with a catering kitchen that accommodates dinners for approximately 350.
