City of Woodward Fire Station

City of Woodward Fire Station

WOODWARD, OK

Architects in Partnership in association with Wiginton Hooker Jeffry Architects, was selected for the City of Woodward’s new 28,000sf Central Fire Station. The current fire station, an 80-year-old facility located on a busy intersection, no longer functioned as needed and contributed to delayed emergency response times. The new station, located at 8th and Williams Avenue has a signal light and controlled access for improved response times and provides the citizens of Woodward a functional and great facility for many generations.
The first level of the new fire station includes an administrative area with offices and a lobby and a total of 8 apparatus bays; including 5 pull-through bays for their larger equipment and 3 shorter rear-entry bays which house the brush fire equipment.. The second level of the station contains the living, training and sleeping quarters for the firefighters. Some of the highlights of these aforementioned areas include an on-site fitness center, a spacious kitchen, a day room area, individual sleeping quarters for both the full-time and volunteer staff, spacious bathrooms, and a training/conference room. There are 2 poles from the second floor to help increase access to the equipment bay on the first floor.
