McAlester Middle School and Activity Center

The McAlester Middle School and Activity Center is a 100,000 square foot project that replaced an outdated and undersized 900-seat gymnasium from 1947, which no longer met the demands of the growing district.

Built on a steeply sloped site next to the existing high school, the modern middle school boasts 25 classroom, science labs, a STEM room, and several safe rooms. It is connected to an event center that features seating for over 1,800 people, accommodating sports, concerts, and other events, along with dedicated spaces for band and choir.

The new facility also enables the district to repurpose and consolidate other school buildings, improving overall efficiency and resource use.
